Recreation & Sports
Raymore has been the home of several recreational and sporting events and clubs for many years. Whether you are looking for curling, skating, minor hockey, senior hockey, soccer, golf, dance, swimming, ball, you can find it in Raymore. We are the ‘Home of the Rockets’, our Senior hockey team which is part of the Highway Hockey League. This group of wonderful singers gathers weekly to practice, and enjoy music. They entertain the public at various functions held throughout the year.
- Novice Nibs Writers Contact: Betty Terschuur 746-4301
Our recreational group of writers meet at our local library weekly to work on and discuss various writing projects of interest to them. We are very proud to be the home of this group of writers. Among them we have some published solo writers. They have also been published as a group.

Raymore is only 20 kilometers away from one of the nicest sand green golf courses in Saskatchewan. Adjacent to Punnichy, you will find an oasis of golf in the 9-hole Punnichy Golf Course.
- Raymore Figure Skating Club Contact: Kim Kirstein 746-2964
Throughout the winter several of our youngsters enroll in skating lessons. These lessons range from preschool can-skate programs to highschool aged children learning various Figure Skating programs. The Skating Club offers boys and girls groups of varying age categories. Many of our skaters take a variety of exams and perform at a variety of skating functions. Their annual Skating Carnival is held in March, highlighting their accomplishments over the year.

Raymore Minor Hockey offers teams that range from Pre-Novice (6 and under) to Midget (18 & under) age groups. The teams are part of the Last Mountain Minor Hockey League, and are proud of various accomplishments throughout the years. Boys and girls of all ages are involved from Raymore and the surrounding area. Our hockey season runs from November to March, or when playoffs are complete.

During the spring months, our Raymore Minor Soccer Club becomes alive with activity. Many youngsters, aged 5 through 10 join the various Raymore teams. We are proud to be sponsored by the Raymore Credit Union.

If you visit Raymore during summer months you have the opportunity to visit our Museum, which is a lovely visit down memory lane. It may be a small building, but is filled with many many items, too numerous to mention. It is a wonderful display of artifacts. Come check us out!

Raymore Dance Club runs September through May, 3 nights per week in our Dance Hall in Raymore. The club consists of many members, boys and girls, who learn various types of dance routines and steps including ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop, musical theatre and lyrical. They learn and perform solos and group numbers. Many dancers attend various competitions throughout the year and host their annual Dance Recital at the end of their season, to showcase their talents.

As part of the Highway Hockey League, our Raymore Rockets play throughout the winter. Our team has been extremely successful, and is proud to call Raymore home. Check out the Highway Hockey League’s website, www.highwayhockey.ca, for scheduling, information, stats and more.
- Raymore Arena: 746-2105
Raymore has a beautiful arena situated east on 1st Avenue. In 1999, as a community we undertook to rebuild and replace the arena/pool waiting and change rooms. We have one of the nicest arenas around. Come check us out as we are the home of our Skating Club, Minor Hockey Club, Raymore Rockets, and are open for use by the school children as part of their recreational activities. We also offer public skating and stick-and-helmet time for our families around Raymore. Raymore Arena also has some prime ice-time available for rental for any groups, teams etc. from in town or out of town. Raymore Curling Club is a busy place during the winter months. We offer evening open curling, in which you can enter as a team or a single and be put on a team. Also before Christmas we have weekly ‘Super League’ curling. We host several bonspiels over the winter, come check out the activity!

Raymore offers minor ball teams for any children aged 6 and up, during the spring months.
- Raymore Swimming Pool 746-2105 or 746-2100
Our outdoor swimming pool is a hub of activity in the summer months. Many children enjoy swimming lessons, taught by qualified life guards and we are lucky to have several hours each week in public swim times. Different evenings of lane swim, aqua-size classes and such are also available. When you are in the area, please check us out!

Raymore children have the opportunity of joining the Wynyard Air Cadet Squadron. This group is for any children aged 12 to 19 that are interested in joining air cadets.
